Refilling an Ink Cartridge Within a Printer

Probably the worst recommendation of any refill kit is to attempt to refill a printer cartridge while it is still within the printer. This may seem ridiculous, but when a manufacturer includes it in their instruction manual, it may be hard to ignore. However, there is no reason why this process should ever be attempted. By trying to inject ink into a printer cartridge, you are placing an excess of pressure upon the printer’s inner mechanisms. This can cause serious long-term damage or at the least, poor future performance. If the cartridge is overfilled, the ink will spill onto the inside of the printer, which makes it virtually impossible to clean up.
